Bill Lyons

Bill Lyons

Founder

Bill initiates the design/build process for each new home and works closely with architects, designers and engineers to discuss the vision for the new home to entice and land potential buyers.

Bill’s career began when he was 12 years old cleaning up jobsites and sweeping homes for his father, also a developer, in southern California. Bill grew up in the residential construction industry and framed custom homes while he attended college in Utah.

He transferred to the University of Denver and earned a degree in business, and simultaneously helped manage the customer service department for his father’s development company.

From there, he moved on to obtain his general contractor and real estate brokerage licenses working along side his father and mentor as a real estate developer. He went on overseeing the planning, land development and construction of hundreds of condominiums and single-family homes throughout the Denver area.

In 2008 Bill founded Devex Properties, and over the next five years continued to “fix and flip” over 200 properties. During that time, Bill became a “boutique builder”, building speculative homes in ever-trending Denver neighborhoods.

He also works directly with clients helping them translate the vision for their new home into a reality. Over the course of his career, Bill has helmed the construction of over 1000 homes, bringing his enduring passion for creating exceptional living spaces to every project.

Bill is a highly involved member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and volunteers as a youth leader. Bill enjoys spending time with his wife and 5 children and in his “spare time” he enjoys training and competing in running, cycling and mountain biking endurance sports.

Jeff Gold

Project Manager

With a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural discipline from Metropolitan State University of Denver, Jeff has 20 years experience overseeing all phases of construction and operations in homebuilding in the Denver area. He began his career as a superintendent and evolved into positions including Purchasing and Operations Manager for a national homebuilder.

He has extensive experience leading multidisciplinary teams to the successful completion of projects. As a project manager at Devex Properties, Jeff approaches all projects with a strong strategic focus and an emphasis on team building while always maintaining a clear path towards achieving project goals.

Outside of work Jeff enjoys traveling and discovering new places with his wife in Europe and Mexico. He also enjoys exploring the outdoors in Colorado.

Brittany Birdsong

Licensed Assistant

Originally from Texas and Louisiana, Brittany moved to Denver in 2018 after living in San Francisco and Austin for a decade. With a degree in Landscape Architecture from LSU, Brittany has experience working within the housing industry from concept to completion on large and small scale projects in the South as well as internationally in China and France.

Brittany’s recent background includes sales, customer service and working within Real Estate Administrative Support roles for top producing teams and offices at Sotheby’s International Realty in San Francisco and LIV Sotheby’s/Milehimodern in Denver.

Outside of work, Brittany enjoys spending time with her husband (Joe) and two children (Henry – 3, Georgia – 7 months) and loves LSU Football, camping, skiing, hiking and traveling as well as an appreciation of art and design.

Courtney Burris

Administrative Coordinator

After moving to Colorado from California, Courtney sought out opportunities that would allow her to build upon her prior experience in sales, accounting and support services. She found the perfect fit at Devex where she can support all aspects of the business, creating strong relationships with the Denver real estate community and market, and still be there for her two kids after school.

Courtney attended Fullerton College in California and hopes to continue her education both in the classroom and out. Courtney can also be found enjoying family time, running, and exploring Colorado.

Dena Shelton

Controller

Dena is a dedicated and skilled accounting professional with 30+ years of experience. Over the course of her career, she has held a variety of accounting positions including controller for ad agencies, a high-definition television network, and financial analyst at Borders Bookstore.

Throughout the years, Dena discovered that her passion lay in working with small businesses. She now specializes in assisting them in organizing their financial records, establishing efficient procedures and practicing informative reporting. She is a summa cum laude graduate of Metropolitan State University with a B.S. in Accounting. She is also an avid practitioner of yoga, foodie and Netflix junkie!
